About Northern Lights Folk Club
A volunteer run, non-profit society, dedicated to the promotion of live acoustic roots music in the Edmonton area since 1998.
Our Mission
The Northern Lights Folk Club is a non-profit society dedicated to bringing the best in acoustic roots music to Edmonton, Alberta. Since 1998, we've presented hundreds of concerts featuring world-class folk, singer-songwriter and roots artists from the Edmonton area, across Canada and around the world.
We believe in intimate, listening-room experiences where the music — and the connection between artist and audience — comes first. Our shows take place in comfortable community venues, keeping ticket prices accessible for everyone who loves live acoustic music.
We're run entirely by volunteers who love the music. Every dollar from ticket sales goes back into programming, artist fees, and keeping this tradition alive in Edmonton.
Shows & Schedule
Season Format
Our season typically runs from September to April, averaging 12 shows per season. Evenings consist of two sets of a main act, or occasionally a double bill featuring two main acts.
Show Times
Doors open at 7:15 pm, performance start at 8:00 p.m. and generally consist of two 45 minute sets. Concession is cash only and closed during the performance. We generally wrap up by 10:30 p.m.
Season Pass Perks
Season pass holders enjoy priority seating by entering 15 minutes early at 7:00 p.m. Passes cover all regular season shows and are fully transferable.
